Machine Vision Internship (f/m/d)

InFactory Solutions GmbH (InFy) is a 100% Airbus subsidiary, part of Testia Group, located in Munich Area. InFy develops solutions for automated quality inspection of aircraft components during manufacturing.

Our multidisciplinary team groups different competence fields from software, mechanical, and electrical engineering.

Our challenge is to generalize sensor solutions, especially machine vision systems, for highly variable component geometries, surface qualities and materials, e. g. Aircraft fuselage and wing components built out of carbon fiber materials (4m² to 100m²).

Our sensor systems are in-house-built or customized cameras or laser profilometers for defect detection and object measurement. They cover the whole process chain. e. g. Monitoring of „Automated Fibre Placement“ & „Automated Tape Laying“ process.

Our systems are integrated in OEM machines or designed as end-to-end independent solutions with “mobile” interfaces (e. g. industrial robots) to collect and analyze data in Real Time.

With the large amount of data generated and different data sources (e.g. cameras, robot) synchronized (images/height profiles with robot positions), our own-developed software is capable of providing interfaces to meet different requirements e. g. robot based multi-sensor visual inspection of cured carbon fiber airframes.

We also see ourselves as the advocate of raising AI acceptance in a safety critical industry like aerospace.

To broaden the expansion of our teams in Munich and Toulouse, we are looking for a full time Machine Vision Intern in Munich as of now. You will be part of the Machine Vision Team.

• Development and design of a modular test bench for sensor and light systems
• Market research on existing solutions
• Based on this: further development/ modification for laboratory applications
• Creation of CAD files and drawings, solicitation of bids and assembly of components to a functional test bench
• Depending on the duration of employment: Carrying out various test series
• Bachelor or semester thesis possible

• Studies in the field of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, mechatronics or equivalent
• Practical experience with Catia V5 or comparable CAD systems
• Practical experience in handling tools (drilling, sawing, thread cutting, soldering, etc.) advantageous
• Practical experience in the field of composites or sensor technology an advantage
• Enthusiasm and passion for technical innovation
• High sense of responsibility
• Fluency in English and/or German is required
• Solution-oriented thinking and willingness to be part of new projects which are not state of the art
• Outstanding team capability, communication, documentation, and presentation abilities

• Work on unique, leading-edge technologies for applications in the aerospace and wind energy sector
• Introduce your own ideas for the further development of our sensors as well as our test rigs
• Work in a creative and international environment and be part of a young, dynamic, and open-minded team with a flat hierarchy
• Actively contribute on the growth and the expansion of InFy
• Unique positioning within the Aeronautics environment as an agile player in the field of automated inspection field
